Adaptive dance is much more than choreography. It is a new path toward recovery, self-acceptance, renewed confidence, and the opportunity to reconnect with one’s body.

In Ukraine, this form of rehabilitation is becoming increasingly important, as it is now part of recovery programs for veterans who have experienced war and sustained severe injuries, amputations, or vision loss.

On May 24, 2026, Kyiv hosted the charity evening “Triumph of the Spirit. The Grace of Dance” — another stage of a nationwide project focused on rehabilitating Ukrainian defenders through adaptive dance.
The initiative was created by Bohdan Holovatenko, owner of Kyiv-based BIG Dance Studio, who also developed a unique concept of adaptive dance specifically for veterans.

Throughout the evening, defenders who had only recently been fighting to protect Ukraine took to the dance floor. One of the participants was Vladyslav Yeshchenko, a veteran who completely lost his sight as a result of his injury. Despite this, he fulfilled his dream — stepping onto the dance floor and performing a tango.

The special atmosphere of the evening was created by hosts Hryhorii Reshetnyk and Rusya Danilkina, a Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran who lost her leg in the war but has become an example of strength and a love for life.

This project is not about pity. It is about respect, support, and new opportunities for people who have sacrificed so much of their strength and health for Ukraine.
The initiative will continue to expand across the regions, with trainer education and the creation of spaces where adaptive dance will become accessible to veterans across the country.

As part of the “One Space” project, we held an educational and training session at Dream Town for everyone interested in learning more about inclusion, including the Dream Town team, tenants, and retail staff.

During the training, we discussed inclusion, creating a barrier-free environment, as well as the ethics and principles of respectful communication with people with disabilities.

Hryhorii is a Ukrainian defender who sustained a severe injury in the spring of 2025 and lost his sight due to trauma to both eyes.

Today, he has a chance to partially restore his vision through a corneal transplant.

To perform the surgery, he needs an individual keratobioimplant costing UAH 48,000

After his injury, Hryhorii went through a difficult course of treatment and numerous medical examinations. Doctors believe there is a chance to restore his vision, but without the necessary implant, the surgery cannot go ahead.

We are launching a fundraiser to help Hryhorii take a step toward recovery and returning to a fulfilling life.

We have some wonderful news!
The “Let's see the Victory” Charitable Foundation has been selected as a grant winner of the National Human Capital Development Programe supported by the Poroshenko Foundation.

Next comes the implementation of our “YOU CAN DO IT” project, aimed at supporting the reintegration of blind veterans into civilian life. We will focus on assessing veterans’ psychological well-being and helping them find their place in a new reality.Supporting veterans is our unwavering priority.

In March, the “Modern View” Union held a rehabilitation camp for people with vision loss. Every day, the camp participants worked on skills that may seem routine to most people but require relearning after vision loss. They learned how to navigate their surroundings, practiced independent mobility, and became familiar with basic assistive devices that can make everyday life easier.
We were honored to contribute to this initiative. Together with our partners at Port UA, led by Anna Purtova, we provided participants with white canes and liquid level indicators. These may seem like simple devices, but in reality, they provide greater independence, safety, and confidence in everyday activities.

Veronika is the first woman in our community who lost her sight while serving in the military. And today, we are sharing an important result with you. ❤️

Thanks to your support, we were able to raise UAH 35,647 for her rehabilitation.
This fundraiser was about more than just raising money — it was about giving Veronika a chance to regain a sense of stability, confidence, and the understanding that life does not end after losing your sight.

Вероніка пройшла курс реабілітації, де отримала навички, які допомагають знову відчути самостійність у щоденному житті: орієнтування у просторі, організацію побуту та нові підходи до самореалізації.

Veronika completed a rehabilitation course where she gained skills that help restore independence in everyday life: navigating her surroundings, managing household tasks, and exploring new ways to pursue personal and professional fulfillment.

Here is what Veronika herself says after completing her rehabilitation: “I didn’t know what to expect from rehabilitation because I had never been through anything like it before. But it definitely exceeded my expectations.
I realized that you should never write off people who have lost their sight or live with a visual impairment. They can work and pursue their goals and aspirations. Most of our rehabilitation trainers were people with visual impairments or vision loss themselves.
I gained valuable skills in orientation and managing everyday life. It was incredibly useful and informative.”

Today, our team conducted an educational and training session for the KDU Realty Group team.

During the session, we discussed an extremely important topic: how to interact with blind veterans and people who have lost their sight as a result of the war; how to offer assistance appropriately, provide guidance in different environments, and communicate naturally without discomfort or fear of doing something “wrong.”

We also focused on the everyday barriers that blind veterans face when returning to civilian life — in public spaces, at work, while navigating the city, and when interacting with services and other people.

Sessions like these are about more than just gaining knowledge. They are about building a society where veterans do not feel “different,” but instead feel supported, respected, and understood.

We are truly glad to see more and more businesses and teams joining us in creating an accessible, inclusive, and barrier-free environment. ❤️

We are entering an important stage in the development of the “Let's see the Victory” Charitable Organization — finalizing the foundation’s strategic and operational plans.
