For the first time in our community, there is a girl who lost her vision during military service.\n\n\u25aa\ufe0f Her name is Veronika.\nShe was only 19 when she decided to serve. At first, she volunteered, and later joined the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) She was awarded the rank of senior soldier.<br><br>\nConstant stress, exhaustion, and the demands of service began to affect her health. At first, her vision started to deteriorate \u2014 she developed myopia. Then glaucoma appeared.\nLater, doctors diagnosed optic nerve atrophy.\n\nIt was during her service that Veronika lost her sight.\n\nNow she needs rehabilitation, adaptation to a new life, and support.\nThat is why we are opening a fundraising campaign to support Veronika\u2019s recovery and rehabilitation.\n\n\u25aa\ufe0f If you were planning to buy flowers this March 8 \u2014\nperhaps this time you could choose support that truly matters.\n\nEvery contribution is another step toward ensuring that Veronika does not walk this path alone.\n\nWe are with you, Veronika.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This year, this day is especially meaningful for us.
