We discussed the journey of acceptance, adaptation, and finding new support systems. \n\nSpecial attention was given to the psychological state of blind veterans and the importance of seeing not just a diagnosis in a patient, but a person with experience, pain, and strength.\n\nIt was important for us to share practical experience and explain why work in ophthalmology is not only about treating eyes, but also about quality of life after vision loss.\n\nWe sincerely thank the entire Santen OY team for their willingness to better understand the needs of veterans who have lost their sight. Real change begins with this kind of understanding.
